Berries from my sunrise walk :)
Back to London to explore and run errands. Saw a wholesome interaction between two dogs on the Tube, which you never see, and it was a nice start. Went to Notting Hill Coffee Project and I met that community vibe present in almost all independent coffee shops. Striking up conversations and getting to know other people is so underappreciated. The shop roasts their beans IN SHOP so I struck up a conversation that way. Met Cosmo, a barista, and Mederic, their French tea purveyor ofĀ Lalani & Co. Cosmo whipped up a green tea w/ lemonade honey concoction which reminded me of Mikeās Secret Stuff from Daydrink back home. Mederic invited me to two tea-tasting events this week - everyone is extremely welcoming. Also met Amir, a French music artist/barista (not pictured).
UPDATE: Iām going to pose as Medericās photographer to get into a Ā£44 whiskey/tea tasting event for free. Also might work with Notting Hill Coffee Project to do service for service in the futureš
Met up with Nathan Schneider and Blake Witty, some friends from Iowa who coincidentally are visiting LondonĀ in between Notting Hill and the tasting - nice to see someĀ familiar faces here
Whiskey and tea tasting was amazing. Mederic is VERY well connected with the food, drink, etc culture in London and exchanging services could be a great way for me to understand the culture here, the reason for my wanting to live abroad in the first place.
I swear the coffee community is so dope. These connections all happened in one fucking day.
