OBJECTIVE: Have fun with April Fool's Day
For April Fool's Day, the Tippie College Of Business social media team ran a gag for Pat's Diner, an in-house cafe, in collaboration with our Associate Dean, Ken Brown, to sell brownies. The team was requested by administration to help boost sales at the cafe and we quickly recognized the opportunity to collaborate with Ken, a favorite amongst both students and faculty to help champion brownie sales. We knew Ken would be able to effectively reach Pat's Diner's consumers and used April Fool's Day as the window to incorporate some light-hearted humor on-brand with Ken's persona as Tippie's outward-facing mascot. We photoshopped Ken's face onto stickers, slapped those stickers on the regular brownies sold at the cafe, and branded the brownies as "Ken Brown-ies". The campaign was a massive success and we sold out within two hours - a 1750% increase in sales!
