Interesting to see people still set up their stands in Covent Garden, an extremely touristy area. I partly expected the items here to be overpriced but they were okay. Still, if i was going to get anything, i would get it at a more local market like the Duck Pond back in Richmond.
Apologies i forgot to take a picture while getting a haircut, but found an Asian salon and got a cut from a Korean hairdresser, June. I find it is sooo much easier to get a haircut at Asian salons because they understand Asian hair. June actually has had a pretty interesting journey as well moving from Korea to Australia, then meeting her bf in Australia, and moving to London. She wants to get out of Korea because of the high stress and non-existent work/life balance there (very similar to why my mom wanted to move to America).
This is Seven Dials Market, street food heaven, but still early so hasn’t woken up yet. They have street food fare from ALL over the world (Taiwanese wheelcake, naan wraps, crepes, bar buns, tacos, greek pita fare, a rotating carousel cheese bar) and it’s fascinating seeing so many cultures collide and people actively enjoying it.
Met with Jamie discussing what I’d do working for Bold. He asked me what i would want out of the experience and, tbh, it’s processes and structure where i could learn from mentors that would look like what larger agencies do - processes and structure they admitted they don’t have in place. What they are looking for is content production; the one thing I’m trying to position away from lol. What Bold would offer me is the chance to keep my production skills sharp and access to the community. Barnes, the area Bold is based in, is very community-based and it would help me understand English culture more, one of my goals living abroad. We’ll do a tester project for them first and see how it goes. Since it seems like Bold values me so much, I can also experiment and unleash my creativity to put those processes and systems in place. It's no risk for them because that's what they want to have in place and it would facilitate my growth having not done anything like it before (reminds me of my best friend, Reagan Mady, putting together the sales system for Kalderos, a SaaS healthcare startup, straight after graduation).
