Went for my first run in London this morning and shit felt good (also helps I’m staying by the largest park in London). Some part of me feels like I’m cheating by staying in Richmond, an affluent part of the city with comfortability and greenery at the forefront. It’s my 20s, I’m young, shouldn’t i be struggling and learning to toughen myself?
Regardless, going into Central today to go to a coffee shop and catch up on budgeting - figuring out all the small things like whether or not to get a cap card or stick with contactless fare paying. I find the best way to explore a city is on foot and i plan to do my exploration through coffee shops. Today, I’m at Black Sheep, a chain that i don’t find too appealing.
Learning to find the most affordable healthy eats i can by walking around the neighborhood and through Central. Found an Indian hostel restaurant i may try sometime, but settled with something from a small Korean grocery store.
I forget London is such an international city that i get thrown aback when i see multiple cultures interacting with one another. Found another coffee shop while walking that was doing an art exhibit in the basement. A journal was left for visitors to write on and there were six different languages in there alone. Went to an outdoor shop for boots and met a worker named Seiji, who’s from Japan and has actually visited Taiwan five times before. Also found a Taiwanese restaurant, lol.
[NOTE FROM 2022-10-1]: Come to find out, that Taiwanese restaurant, BAO, is very well-known in London and offers some of the best food in town.
